Our Story
The Quantum Relaxation was born from a simple conviction: that the deepest insights of contemplative tradition and the most rigorous findings of modern neuroscience are pointing at the same truth.

How We Began
In 2014, neuroscientist Dr. Serena Voss was studying the neural correlates of meditation at MIT when she took a sabbatical to spend three months in a Tibetan monastery in Ladakh. What she encountered there could not be fully explained by her instruments.
She returned not with answers, but with a deeper question: what if the most advanced technology for understanding the mind was not a brain scanner, but the mind itself — trained with precision and guided by wisdom?
The Quantum Relaxation grew from that question. It is a place where the rigour of science and the depth of tradition are not in tension — they are in conversation.
What We Stand On
We draw on cutting-edge neuroscience — brainwave entrainment, neuroplasticity, and the polyvagal theory — to design practices that produce measurable, lasting change.
Thousands of years of contemplative tradition from Vedanta, Zen, Tibetan Buddhism, and Taoism form the living roots of every practice we offer.
Transformation is not intellectual. Our programs are designed to be felt — in the body, the breath, and the quiet space between thoughts.
The Guides
Founder & Lead Instructor
Serena spent 15 years as a neuroscientist at MIT before a profound meditation retreat in the Himalayas changed the direction of her life. She founded The Quantum Relaxation to bridge the gap between rigorous science and the transformative depth of contemplative practice. Her approach is precise, warm, and utterly grounded.
