What is The Quantum Relaxation Meditation?

The premise of Quantum Relaxation is simple: by taking time out to be silent in a “special” manner, you may become Yourself at ease. Unlike many meditation techniques, with QR there is no unique breathing, images, sounds, or words. In a way QR is the un-meditation, meditation.
You may wonder, what exactly is meditation? I like the definition of one of my early mentors, Jon Kabat-Zinn, the Father of Modern Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday life. He defined meditation as, “moment-to-moment awareness out of choice.” I like that– simple and clear. Meditation is the opposite of habitual mindlessness and reactivity. While humans will always have moments of stressful “reactivity,” studies have shown people who meditate return to equilibrium quicker.
The Quantum Relaxation meditation is simple: there is little you have to “do” except be present in a special way. The idea is, if you show up to practice QR, QR will take care of you. Kind of like brushing your teeth. Isn’t that amazing? A simple 10- minute practice takes care of you, reducing stress on the mind and body and offering a quicker return to equilibrium.
To be clear, QR has nothing to do with “religion” and everything to do with an inner capacity for transformation. This includes our innate capacity for experiencing peace and gratitude; where the world flows in favor of contentment, for you and with you. Wherever you are in the emotional world of your day-to-day life, and it may be far from a sense of peacefulness, QR is a powerful way to cultivate the ability for “moment-to-moment” well-being.
QR offers us the chance to live with less fear and burden, to clear and transform the Heart from trauma, blockages, and limitations, to increase our capacity for love and forgiveness. QR helps improve our coping skills, because our baseline nervous system becomes more aligned with a sense of balance and “neutrality.”
QR does not take away the drama of life, nor the vulnerability that makes human life at times “messy” and emotional. QR is simply a deep relaxation technique that offers solace for the stresses of being Human. Ultimately, QR is about cultivating the skill to be fully Human without the burden of drama or shame.

Is Quantum Relaxation the Right Meditation for Me?

QR and the practice of Meditation is like a doorway to the experience of Self as an expression of equanimity, compassion, and curiosity. While there are hundreds of “formal meditations” taught around the world, the challenge is to find what is right for you. No doubt, some meditations will be more agreeable to your constitution than others. Like certain foods that agree with you and some that do not, the same may be said of meditation. You will notice preferences. Some people love Yoga, others, not so much. Some people love sitting meditation or Mantra, (chanting words or phrases in prayer or song). There are literally thousands of meditations. You may have heard of Mindfulness Meditation, which I taught in hospital settings for over 15 years, focusing on helping chronic pain patients. One meditation is not “better” than another. As a young student of Yoga, one meditation teacher told me, “find one, do it for a few months or years, and see how it suits you. If you like it, do it for life.” In a way the meditation finds you.

Why Practice QR?

Clients often come with a range of issues from emotional distress, anxiety and worry, to sleep difficulties, physical pain or illness. While not a substitute for traditional medicine where needed, Quantum Relaxation offers the chance to bring harmony into one’s life, no matter what level of distress you may be experiencing, offering the empowerment of what you can do for yourself.
Former and current clients report feeling increased calm and clarity, when all around them may be difficulties and hardship. When we align with our capacity to engage our ever-present feelings of “Neutral”, we enter into the possibility of releasing our habitual patterns and relax into experiencing healthier ways of being in the world.

The Moment is Now!

After many years of meditation practice, I developed QR drawing from a unique combination of meditation tools, teachers, and ancient wisdom. My intention is to offer an opportunity to cultivate personal clarity and relaxation, with less distortions and doubt in life’s day to day travails.
Numerous meditation teachers and Masters have brought me to this moment. Each teacher brought a blessing and intention of how to cultivate an inner awakening and neutral balance. And I thank and pay homage to all my teachers. In a sense, Quantum Relaxation emerges as the best of all I have learned. As I like to tell clients, do not take my word for anything. Try QR once and see if you like it. Then ask yourself, Is QR a good fit for cultivating well-being? If the answer is yes, you have a new wellness tool in your Tool Box for Life.
